Project 2 Draft Proposals - 1)Dynamic Bollards - 2)Particulate/Gas Localization

  1. Hi guys.

I can't help but notice that your dynamic bollards concept bears much in common with the adaptive evacuation route idea that I posted on Thursday. Just to be above board, Adam and I have spent the weekend crafting this idea further and we still intend to pursue it.

  2. We're looking at combining proposals one and two. The idea is that the hazardous particulate localization idea is still missing something. While it fundamentally transforms a situation in that it minimizes risk due to the particulate/gas, it offers little in the way of representation or guidance for anyone caught in or around the event. They know their environment is changing but they don't know how and as a result, it is difficult for them to know what to do.

So we're thinking of combining the ideas to where using the lights and bollards or some variation so we can provide pedestrians with a sense of how well or poorly the hazard is contained, the extent to which it spread, its level of hazardousness, and where they should go.

The question is how to do this. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
